Objective

The course focuses on the different art branche’s overall development, characteristics and the main means of expression as well as on interconnections between the different art branches. The student learns to identify different artistic means of expression and genres as well as to learn how to analyze works. The student learns to monitor and analyze the current issues of the art discussion and how to connect the background and current events to this moment’s social framework. The student learns the keywords of the philosophy of art and to distinguish art in the different roles and contexts. He/she understands art as an experience and learns to verbalize and communicate it to others. The student learns to understand the creative artistic process and artist’s professional procedures. The student will become familiar with the literature of the various fields of art as well as the main actors of those.

- Art form’s mutual couplings and multiartistyness
- The current phenomenons of art
- The main actors and art institutions
- Artist as a cooperation partner

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to identify the different forms of art, to describe the works and knows how the media and literature treats the art.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to look the different forms of art from various angles as well as to relate the issues to the whole.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student compares and analyzes the media’s way to treat the art, different forms of art and artistic works in their own social context by using the literature.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student is able to identify the different forms of art, to describe the works and knows how the media and literature treats the art.
