Objective

Professional Skills in Main Instrument 1-4

The student is able to perform concert level repertoire with his/her main instrument and he/she has sufficient technical, musical and performing skills for that. He knows the repertoire of the main instrument from different eras and has become acquainted with different performance practises. He/ she can practice meaningfully with means fit for the purpose and is able to prepare new repertoire independently. He has acquired a conviction of his own strengths both in skills and in artistic abilities.

Content

Professional Skills in Main Instrument 1-4

The student orientates him/herself in the technical and musical control, in the repertoire and in different approaches in interpretation of different eras. The student becomes competent as a musician. The core of the studies is formed by One-to-one instrumental and vocal tuition, students own practicing and public performances, which are to be completed by master classes and intensive study periods, class lessons and other ways of learning.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

A performance that meets the minimum criteria, but no more. The candidate demonstrates a very limited degree of judgement and independent thinking.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

A good performance in most areas. The candidate demonstrates a reasonable degree of judgement and independent thinking in the most important areas.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

An excellent performance, clearly outstanding. The candidate demonstrates excellent judgement and a high degree of independent thinking.
