Secondary Instrument 2Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

After completing the course the student:
- familiarizes him/herself with the basics of playing the instrument, including both technical and accompaniment tasks.
- familiarizes him/herself with the advanced accompaniment
- becomes qualified for studies based on their individual study plan

Content

- rudimentary accompaniment in different styles
- exercises in coordination
- accompaniment rhythms, basic technique, music reading and interpreting song structure.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

To get an approved performance the student:
- has participated in teaching
- has accomplished agreed assignments
- is able to independent working
- is practicing repertoire
- is practicing typical interpretation of his/hers instrument
- is able to understand accompaniment rhythms aurally, visually and kinesthetically with his/her instrument
- is able to use characteristic means of expression and accompaniment rhythms of his/her instrument
