Orthodontal Oral Health Care in Simulation EnvironmentLaajuus (4 ECTS)

Objective

The student is able to distinguish anomalies from normal development of occlusion.
S/he can explain the effects of malocclusions on oral health and general health. The student is able to identify malocclusions and refer the patient to orthodontic treatment. The student is able to guide orthodontic clients in oral self-care. The student can work as an orthodontic team member in treating developing occlusion. S/he knows how to take impressions and occlusion indices and prepare plaster models. S/he is able to construct and dismantle the fixed applience. S/he is able to handle orthodontic first aid tasks. The student is able to evaluate and actively develop his/her skills in treating an orthodontic client.
