Periodontal Health Care in Simulation EnvironmentLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student is able to plan and implement periodontal health care according to the principles of physiological working. S/he is able to work systematically. S/he is able to compare the structure of the periodontologic instruments. S/he can assess the root surface shapes of a tooth. S/he can justify the appropriate use of instruments and technique. S/he can use periodontal probe and periodontal instruments properly. S/he can remove the biofilm and bacteria retentive supra- and subgingival plaque with ultrasonic and hand instruments. S/he is able to assess the sharpness of the instruments, and sharpen the instruments. S/he is able to assess according to the patient's oral health status the kind of oral health care tools/instrments that the patient needs at home. S/he is able to evaluate his/her work, working position, the use of equipment and complying of safety instructions.
