Objective

Students are able to work and express themselves in the processes of participatory and interactive drama and as part of group activities.

Students can identify pedagogical thinking in applied art work and starts to become aware of their own art pedagogical thinking. Students knows the history, processes, performance forms and key concepts of participatory and interactive drama. Students are familiar with the communal and social thinking applied drama work is connected to. Students knows 4 – 5 different drama methods and commands the central working methods of 2 of them. Students is familiar with dramaturgic tools in the context of applied drama. They know the general principles of group dynamics and group roles. Students know how to use physical expression as part of community and group based methods.

Content

Students learn about drama methods in community and educational contexts through practical excercises. Key concepts and working methods include play, games and ritualisation, investigative methods include, for example, playback theatre, process darma / drama story and forum theatre. Studies are based on interartistic thinking and applied use of various art forms, such as music, visual art and digital media. The course also introduces the students to the theories of art pedagogy and the related philosophical concepts.

Active participating to the lectures. Ability to adapt and reflect. Exercises done with new knowledge to the subject.

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
