Objective
Students have an understanding of the processes of the different areas of production and event management of applied theatre. Student knows the job descriptions of people working in applied drama productions. Students are familiar with production plans and budgets needed in applied drama and has the basic skills to manage them.
Each students chooses to specialize in one of the following:
A) Production Management Skills or
B) Budget Management Skills.
Content
Students learn production management skills by carrying out one of the following small-scale projects:
A) Production Planning Skills
Each student participates in a project, where they draw up a production plan together with the director and producer. They are responsible for drawing up and managing schedules, international communication and technical production. Job titles can be, for example, production coordinator or director’s or stage manager’s assistant.
B) Budget Management Skills
Each student participates in a project, where they are responsible for the budget and marketing together with the director and the producer. They manage and update the budget, financial reporting, participate in marketing and external communication. are responsible for up and managing schedules, international communication and technical production. Job titles can be, for example, publicist, producer’s assistant, or production manager.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Students
1) participate in the project of their choice and completes the assigned tasks
2) can select their learning targets and proportion their workload in the project to the requirements of the course
3) identify the various job roles in the a production process and know their significance in applied drama.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Students
1) contribute responsibly to the project they have chosen, their duties and practical training
2) can select their learning targets and takes on an active role in the production process in accordance with the workload and requirements of the course
3) know the the significance of various job roles in various production processes of applied drama.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Students
1) commit to their assigned job role in the project and gain insight during the process
2) can select their learning targets and adjust their duties so the that project can achieve the desired outcome
3) can develop the job role they have taken on in the production process and to make a solid contribution to the outcome of the project.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
