Objective

The student knows the main points of occupational safety legislation and the kind of obligations it includes for both employers and employees. The student understands the challenges of occupational well-being, and is familiar with methods to increase well-being.

1. Legislation and responsibility for occupational safety in organizations

2. Factors affecting the occupational well-being

3. Implementation methods for occupational well-being

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1.The student understands the basic regulations of occupational safety legislation, knows the structure of the occupational safety organisation and the responsibilities it includes.

2. The student is able to list factors affecting the occupational well-being

3. The student is able to list methods for managing and improving occupational well-being.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1.The student can explain the legal requirements according to both employer and employee, as well as to the whole organization

2.The student can identify and analyze what kind of hazards are related to various duties at work.

3.The student can apply existing risk control methods and she/he is able to create basic safety guidelines and simple safety documents.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. The student can apply the law of occupational safety and develop activities for the occupational safety organization

2. The student can create mechanisms for identifying hazards and how to prevent them (documentation of near-miss situations, maintenance program etc)

3. The student can develop appropriate risk management methods and prepare documents relating to occupational safety and well-being (rescue plan, safety guide, etc).
