Objective

Understanding business dynamics together with cultural values equips the participants with a necessary marketing and management knowledge as well as analytical skills for effective strategic marketing in the Asia-Pacific Region.
A greater insight will be given into the administrative modes, business negotiation styles and other cultural aspects to build an important framework whilst starting businesses in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Content

The course is designed to introduce the complex diversity of the Asia-Pacific Region as
a business area and the dynamics of businesses in 21 Asia-Pacific countries and in
4 regions. The course will concentrate on the business opportunities and challenges
in the fastest growing business area in the world; a special focus is given for the recovery
of Asia-Pacific countries from global economic recession in 2008-10.
The course particularly focuses on historical backgrounds, economic performances,
governance frames, business cultures and practices, and for social structures in
preparing companies to organize their businesses in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Students have achieved the course objectives fairly. Students will be able to identify, define and use the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student understands the criteria and principles of the expertise development.

The course will be arranged as an intensive weekend course (24 lecture hours). You
are encouraged to become an active information seeker and user in Asian business
and business cultures.
