Laboratory Exercises in PhysicsLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

After completion of this course the student is able to perform different measurements in a laboratory, is able to analyze and report the measurement results. The student is able to estimate the reliability of the measurement results.

Content

1. Different assignments in various fields in physics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student is able to perform measurements.
2. The student knows how to make the outline of a measurement report.
3. He/she is able to present all the necessary equations and as well use each equation correctly.
4. He/she is able to estimate the errors in measurement results.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. As in level 1.
2. The student is able to name the axis and the units in the presented graphs.
3. He/she is able to add numbers and legends to tables and figures.
4. He/she is able to refer to appendices in a report.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. As in level 3.
2. The student is able to match a line or a curve to the measurement data in graphs.
3. He/she is able to comment and reflect the results and possible reference values found on the relevant tables.
