Introduction to ComputingLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course, the student is able to use computers and information networks as efficient tools in core requirement and professional studies. The student is able to use main PC applications software.

Content

1. Information processing environment at Metropolia.

2. Basic concepts of information technology and computer science.

3. Word processing: formatting, mathematical equations, styles, graphics, pictures and tables.

4. Spreadsheets: formatting, formulas, functions and charts.

5. Presentations

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student scores at least 40 % on the exam and completes most of the exercises.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student scores at least 60 % on the exam and completes most of the exercises.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student scores at least 80 % on the exam and completes most of the exercises.
