Objective

After completing this course:
- Student will know different support materials and is able to choose an appropriate support material and thread in various textile conservation assignments.
- Student will have a basic knowledge of the techniques used in textile conservation and she/he will know how and when they are used.
- Student will be able to apply her/his knowledge in practical conservation work.
- Student will know the equipment used in textile conservation and she/he will be able to use them properly.

- Stitches, support fabrics and other materials used in textile conservation.
- Structure and properties of sewing threads.
- Properties of fabrics and other materials used in textile conservation.
- Equipment and their use in textile conservation.
