Objective

The student will be able to draw up a plan for the heating system of a day care centre, school or an office building, along with a related automation plan.

Content

Calculating the need for energy and power, selecting systems, sizing water flow, selecting equipment, designing piping. Planar and sectional drawings, circuit diagrams, adjustment diagrams, descriptions of operations, equipment and machine lists. Specifications. MagiCAD and CADS software. Software for selecting equipment.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the phases of a planning project. He or she is able to perform calculations and create planning documents including the essential phases, but with significant errors and shortcomings. The student needs to be assisted in various steps.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to perform calculations and create planning documents including all the essential phases. The student needs to be assisted in some steps. He or she completes assignments on time.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is familiar with the phases of a planning project. The student is able to perform calculations and create planning documents including all the essential phases, thoroughly and almost without errors. The student needs guidance in the most demanding tasks only. The student is able to give reasons for his or her choices and to provide alternative solutions. The student completes assignments on time.
