Objective
Students use and produce verbal and written text types required in professional expert work. Students seek information from professional sources and assess their reliability, while also making use of the information that they have acquired in their studies and as part of work assignments. Students understand the significance of communication to expert work, working communities and R&D assignments. Students recognise various communication situations and text types relevant to studies and working life and the objectives of these and they want to develop their professional communication and interaction skills.

Professional literacy
Confidence in public speaking and speech as a medium of influence, conversation and interaction in a group
Planning and illustrating speech in various contexts: taking the floor, introducing a topic, communication at meetings, seminar work and peer evaluation
Professional text composition and layout; reports, summaries, web-based and electronic communication, research article as a text type
Basics of R&D communication: information acquisition and information search process; use and assessment of and referring to sources
Functioning as a professional expert online
