Objective

Core Competence:
Fire safety, work safety, electrical safety, first aid, rigging safety and audience safety.

Students know the laws and regulations relating to fire, work, electrical, rigging and audience safety and understand the inherent liability. Students master the necessary first aid skills. They are able to do riggings safely and to take care of initial fire extinction when needed. They know how to use and apply these skills working in the technical crew of live performance productions.

Content

The course covers the relevant laws, regulations and guidelines concerning safety as well as the related procedures. Students learn to define the time, space and staff needs that arise from safety concerns.

The course comprises lectures and practical assignments.

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
