Objective

Core Contents:
Audiovisual systems, equipment, servers and documentation.

Students know the equipment that belong to an audiovisual system, their technical qualities, what they can be used for, operating principles and special requirements. Students know how to set up and use audiovisual systems. They know how to draw up and interpret audiovisual documentation. Students know the safety risks inherent in audiovisual systems and they can take them into consideration when using the systems. They are able to use and apply these skills when working in the technical crew of a live performance.

Content

The course covers the parts of audiovisual systems, the cabling between different parts, operating principles and cabling to sound systems. The course covers the different formats of electronic visual material, different server appliances, their format requirements and the students learn to transfer material from one appliance to another. They know how to use audiovisual equipment in live performance productions. Students learn to use the information of audiovisual documents to define the time, space and staff requirements in setting up and striking a live production.

The course comprises lectures, practical assignments and work experience. English skills are learned during the Professional English course.
