Proseminar and MethodologyLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

Students the requirements for the content of the final thesis as well as the ethical guidelines for writing it. They know how to narrow down the topic of research and to choose the right research methods. Students acquire more skills in knowledge management and they how to use relevant databases and reference material.

Content

Students participate in proseminar meetings, write an essay on a topic relating to live performance engineering and complete a related practical assignment. Students present their essay and project in the seminar. Students learn information search methods, investigative learning and use of references. The course include lectures and practical assignments. Part of the course can be carried out as e-learning.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
