Objective

After completing the study unit, students
• understand the effect of illness on children and young persons of different ages and their families.
• master the special features of physiology of children and know how to observe their vital signs.
• can treat an acutely ill child and young person safely.
• evaluate and implement versatile patient education and methods of clinical nursing based on evidence.
• master paediatric basic life support and in-hospital resuscitation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students are familiar with the physiological features of a child and can observe the vital signs. Students can treat an acutely ill child and young person safely.
