Objective
After completing the study unit, students are able to act according to the good occupational health care practices as members of the multiprofessional work team. They can implement workplace surveys and action plans by identifying factors promoting and threatening the health of the work environment and employees. Students are able to evaluate the significance of these factors to the health and wellbeing of the work environment, work community and single employees in cooperation with occupational health care professionals, experts and actors in the workplace. They are able to use evidence-based knowledge in a versatile way to support their actions. Students conduct health examinations and draw up conclusions on them if necessary. They share their expertise as experts of health promotion methods and act as members of the multiprofessional work team in occupational health care. Students can evaluate the significance of work-related symptoms and illnesses to employees’ health and working capacity. They master the main methods of control, follow-up and early support of working capacity. Students evaluate the effectiveness of occupational health care in cooperation with other professionals and experts.

Student is able to

implement a workplace survey and an action plan by identifying factors promoting and threatening the health of the work environment and the employee.
evaluate the significance of these factors to the health and wellbeing of the work environment, work community and a single employee in cooperation with the professionals and experts of occupational health care as well as actors in the workplace.
use evidence-based knowledge to support his/her own actions in a versatile way.

evaluate employee’s suitability for the work under supervision.
share expertise as an expert of health promotion methods and act as a member of the multiprofessional work group in occupational health care.
