Objective

Students know how to plan and instruct safe and individual therapeutic exercises. They are able to use various means of education and feedback and consider individual needs in the physiotherapy sessions. Students can describe the effects of physical inactivity on the organ system in contrast to exertion and training. They are able to describe energy sources and generation methods during physical exertion and training. Students can explain the physics of body movements from the perspective of motion, force and torque as well as equilibrium, effort and capacity. They know how to describe the short- and long-term effects of physical exertion and training.
Students are aware of the physical exertion factors of physiotherapy. They understand the significance of ergonomic principles for the prevention of musculoskeletal problems and know how to apply them to their actions. Students are capable of planning and instructing patient’s safe assistance and transfer that supports patient’s functional ability.

Energy source and means of generating energy during physical exertion
Principles of training
Training of general endurance
Biomechanical basics of movement and mobility
Physical exertion factors related to physiotherapy
Ergonomic principles of assisting patients
Practising patient’s assistance and transfer
Most common assistive equipment used in patient transfer

Students master professional concepts, and they justify their choices using the comprehensive knowledge base, based on the client’s needs. Students assess systematically the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.

Students act independently and professionally aiming at goals set to them in their operating environment as well as apply working methods appropriately and safely.

Students work according to professional ethics as well as commit themselves to the group, enhancing its functioning.

Good (3-4)
Students master professional concepts and make choices together with the client using the comprehensive knowledge base. They also assess and develop their own functioning systematically.

Students act independently and professionally aiming at goals set to them in their operating environment. They also apply working methods flexibly and safely.

Students work according to professional ethics considering the characteristics of various situations, and in their work they commit themselves to the code of professional conduct.

Excellent (5)
Students master professional concepts and make choices together with the client using the comprehensive knowledge base, in changing environments. They also assess their own functioning and produce knowledge to develop their operating environment.

Students act independently and professionally and develop their working and operating environments together with other actors.

Students work according to professional ethics considering the characteristics of complex and unpredictable situations. Their work develops and renews professional procedures and practices.
