Objective

The student is familiar with the strategic importance of a culture of excellence. The student also understands the principles of business and quality development. He/she is familiar with the concept of quality systems and recognizes some quality tools. The student learns about some recent industry examples. The student is able to apply his/her knowledge to a case example.

- The purpose of Operations Excellence and Quality Management
- Quality definitions and their implications
- Quality standards and organisations
- Quality models, systems & tools
- Application to a case (project/assignment).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can explain the logic behind quality focused work and its benefits

The student knows the common quality standards and development organisations

The student is familiar with at least one quality framework used in the industry

50% score from the exam and/or assignments

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the previous:

The student proves his/her ability to apply quality models and systems in a professional case example.

70% score from the exam and/or assignments.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the previous:

Active, constructive participation

Shares new knowledge and/or a well researched point of view on the subject

High quality communication

90% score from the exam and/or assignments.
