Objective

After completion of the course student understands the meaning of the high level automation in production and knows how to apply control and information system when automating production. Student knows the theory of the OEE and knows how to optimize production with OEE.

Student is able to take advantage of automation when automating production and knows the control and infromation system used during the course.

Content

Automation in production. Control system in production automation and integration of the control system. Manufacturing execution system. Data acquisition and integration. Maintenance and OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) in production automation. Development trends of the production automation.

During the course diffrent control and information system used in production automation are gone through.

Qualifications

No Metropolia-studies required. Basic knowledge of PLCs and user interfaces recommended.

Class room teaching: 21 h (7 * 3 h), teaching in the PC-class, part of the lectures practical exercises are made.
Laboratory exercises: 18 h (6 * 3 h)
