Objective

The student will be familiar with the requirements for various qualifications and competences, the rules and regulations concerning special equipment, and the principles of installing and protecting cables. The student will also know how devices for protection against disturbances, devices for ensuring the supply of electricity, and instruments for measuring energy function and how they are installed.
The student will know the major safety requirements that rule the electrical installations of power supply, HVAC equipment and lighting in various spaces and conditions inside and outside buildings. Furthermore, the student will be able to implement the requirements and design technically practical and economic systems.

Content

Major points of the standards, public rules and regulations and instructions concerning 400/230 V equipment in buildings. Equipment necessary for building a power supply system, and rules and regulations concerning it. Selection of appliances according to the requirements set by the space and the need for protection.
Technical and economic criteria for equipment selection and calculations for comparison.

The student will know the major safety requirements that rule the electrical installations of power supply, HVAC equipment and lighting in various spaces and conditions inside and outside buildings. Furthermore, the student will be able to implement the requirements and design technically practical and economic systems.

The student is able to apply the above listed knowledge and skills according to instructions.

The student is able to give reasons for his or her choices related to the above listed content in a comprehensive manner.
