A knowledge of basic consepts and phenomena of chemistry and application of them.

Content

Elements, atoms, compounds, solutions, solubility. Properties of acids and bases, pH-scale and neutralization. Chemical reaction, stoichiometry and combustion. Thermal chemistry and power production by means of combustion reaction.

Basics of electrochemistry, reduction, oxidation, electrochemical series and standard potentials. Chemical and electrochemical corrosion and corrosion prevention. Water treatment prosesses and water analyze. How to handle toxic substances and chemical safety at work.
