Objective

After completion of this course the student will understand the basic principles of process simulation, field of applications and is able to estimate when it is profitable to use process simulation in problem solving.

After completion of this course the student is able to use process simulation programs in simple process simulation applications.

Content

Material- and component balances, energy balances, common ODE-solvers, modeling principles, the use of most important process simulation tools

Principles of CFD- and Event Based Simulations

Qualifications

Basic course in mathematics A and B, fluid flow and balances, mass transfer operations
