Objective

Students understand the development of nervous system. Students are familiar with the structures, development and functions of the central and peripheral nervous systems. They understand the sructure of nerves and nerve impulse transmission. Students learn the nerves of head, body and limbs and recognize the common lower extremity nervous disorders.

Content

Physiological anatomy of the neurons. Development of the central nervous system in general terms. The central nervous system, the peripheral nervous system, the autonomic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.
Brain parts and their major functions
Anatomy and major pathways of the spinal cord.
Formation of spinal nerves. Common nervous disorders.
