Objective
Students gain practice in perceiving the anatomy of the body by means of their hands and in recognising various tissues through palpation (soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, bony tissue and joint structures). Students command the strokes and techniques used in classical massage and gain practice in applying these. Students are aware of the arthrokinematics of the extremities. Students develop in examining joint movements and gain practice in implementing these. Students understand the significance of manual treatment of soft tissues and joint mobilisation as part of physiotherapy.
