Objective

The student is familiar with the caring environment of the oral health care teaching clinic. S/he internalises the meaning of hygiene in oral health care and is familiar with the principles of aseptic techniques in the caring environment and the instruments. The student is aware of the hygiene procedures in oral health care.

Physical environment of the oral health care teaching clinic, principles and maintenance of machines and equipment
Social and symbolic environment of the oral health care teaching clinic
Contamination of microbes and the factors affecting contamination in oral health care
Aseptic procedures with patients
Aseptic techniques of the personnel, hand hygiene and safety clothing
Aseptic caring environment
Cleaning of the instruments, disinfection and sterilisation
