Objective
The oral hygienist student achieves competence in the basics of clinical microbiology and immunology because s/he treats patients who have infectious oral diseases. The student understands the meaning of microbes in the body's defence system as pathogens, and is able to maintain his/her own health. The student is aware of his/her own contribution to terminating the contamination pathways, and displays competence in bacteria cultivation samples and in microbiological sampling.
