Basic Equipment and Techniques in Biomedical Laboratory Science1Laajuus (5 ECTS)
Course unit code: SBXXB01
General information
- Credits
- 5 ECTS
Objective
Students understand the physical operating principles and operational safety of equipment used in biomedical laboratory work. Students acquire basic knowledge in mechanics and thermodynamics, on the basis of which they become capable of understanding the operating principles of the techniques and equipment used in treatment and in laboratory work.
Students familiarise themselves with the basic equipment and techniques needed in the work of Biomedical Laboratory Technologists. Students are familiar with the principles of the most common measurements and with the structures, operating principles, use and operational maintenance of equipment. Students are able to work safely and in compliance with occupational ergonomics.
