Location: Myllypurontie
The curriculum is based on a skill requirement description prepared together with companies and organisations working in the field of construction.
The description focuses on construction site management.
The first year includes basic studies in construction, and building contacts with companies and organisations in the field.
One fourth of the second year of studies consists of practical training in construction companies which is supervised by both teachers and appointed staff members at the company. During the third year, in addition to practical training, students carry out an innovation project (10 ECTS credits), which is ordered by a company and aims at developing its operations.
During the fourth year students complete a Bachelor's thesis, which is ordered by a company.
In addition sustainable development and digital skills are involved in suitable courses.
Professionals from construction companies are involved in teaching from the first year onwards, and their input increases as the studies progress.
The university has established co-operation with dozens of construction companies, most of which operate in the Helsinki metropolitan region.
The student can choose optional studies from other programs, or complete 30 to 60 ECTS credits as an exchange student abroad.
