Objective

The student
• is able to describe the main principles and concepts of copyright law
• knows the copyright terminology and understands the different types of immaterial rights
• is able to apply practices related to intellectual property rights and to make use of related licences and rights of use
• can use works and other subjects protected by authors’ rights in a way that respects the moral and other rights of the author
• is competent in citation and referencing and understands their responsibilities and sanctions in case of copyright infringement
• understands the importance of agreements and contracts in professional activities and is familiar with basic types of contracts used in the field
• identifies the advantages and disadvantages of various contract types and understands the types of exclusive rights and other constraints associated with contracts
• understands the importance of values and responsibility and is able to act ethically and promote equality.

The students are able to describe in a comprehensive and accurate way the key principles and concepts of the topics of the course. The students understand the basic concepts of intellectual property rights. The students identify the significance of contracts and their main types. The students demonstrate an understanding of ethical principles and equality.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of all topics of the course. The students are able to explain the connections between concepts and apply them in different situations. The students are able to justify their decisions in terms of ethics and responsibility.
