Objective

Students know the equipment of live performance lighting systems. They know the properties, potential uses, operational principles and special requirements of the relevant devices. Students can apply the knowledge base of the profession to simple lighting systems. Students are able to accurately interpret lighting system documentation. The students understand performance technology as a part of live performance production and understand the job requirements in the field. Students are aware of the inherent safety risks and can take them into account while using the systems.

- Introduction to moving lights and their technical qualities
- Lighting system software and network solutions
- Symbols and markings in lighting documentation
- Safety risks and practices

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student sees the main principles of the lighting system and the importance of different devices in the system. The student understands performance technology as a part of live performance production and he/she understands the job requirements in the field. The student is aware of the inherent safety risks of the systems and can take them into account while setting up and using the systems. The student is able to find relevant information and apply it into practice.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the main principles of lighting systems and the operation of different devices in the system. He/she uses professional knowledge and technical documentation as part of the design process. The student understands performance technology as a part of live performance production and he/she understands the job requirements in the field. The student is aware of the inherent safety risks of the systems and can take them into account while setting up and using the systems. The student seeks relevant information independently and applies it into practice.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student comprehensively understands the principles of lighting systems and the operation of various devices in the system. He/she uses professional knowledge and technical documentation consistently as part of the design process. The student understands performance technology as a part of live performance production and he/she understands the job requirements in the field. The student is aware of the inherent safety risks of the systems and can take them into account while setting up and using the systems. He/she improves the safety of the work group. The student seeks and analyzes relevant information independently and applies it into practice.

The student understands the totality of the lighting system and the significance of different devices in the system.
