Objective

The student will be able to:
- expand understanding of how workplace practices, guidelines, and legislation governing client work influence occupational therapy
- collaborate as a partner with the client and relevant network actors in a client-centred, professional manner while adhering to the ethical principles of occupational therapy
- recognise the need for and benefits of guidance as a future occupational therapist
- justify and reflect on their own actions as a future occupational therapist
- anticipate themes of lifelong learning in professional practice

Occupational therapy
The student will be able to:
- plan and implement occupational therapy client processes (individual, group, and/or community) in a justified manner, aligning them with the organisation's core tasks and the client’s goals
- thoughtfully integrate occupational therapy theoretical knowledge and other evidence-based information in the planning and implementation of client processes
- anticipate the benefits of the occupational therapy process for the client
- utilise skills in the therapeutic relationship in various interaction situations
- communicate appropriately about the phases of the occupational therapy process in different contexts.

Guidance, rules, legislation and safety
The potential of occupational therapy in relation to the core mission of the organisation
Client processes in occupational therapy (individual, group and/or community) and their implementation
Identifying the impact of networks related to the individual
Justifying and reflecting on own actions
Professional reasoning and decision-making

Qualifications

Before taking this course, the student must have successfully completed at least 85 ECTS, including the courses Interpretation and Reporting of Assessment Data in Occupational Therapy, Assistive Devices and Environmental Modifications in Occupational Therapy, Work Placement for Occupational Therapists 2, Factors Influencing the Occupational Therapy Relationship, and Occupational Therapy Intervention.

Further information

The degree in occupational therapy includes four work placements for occupational therapists, totalling 40 ECTS. The students are guided to choose placements that are as diverse as possible from each other (WFOT minimum standards). The students are responsible for finding their own placements.
