Objective

The student will be able to
- describe the purpose, means and objectives of overall geriatric assessment
- explain the most common geriatric and neurological diseases and syndromes
- describe the main objectives of care in geriatric and neurological diseases
- recognise the importance of research and recommendations in care planning and goal setting
- explain the links between brain function and human activity
- can explain the most common brain disorders of older people.

- Overall geriatric assessment, the most common geriatric diseases, syndromes and pain conditions, their examination, diagnosis and treatment
- Geriatric psychiatry
- Neuropsychology
- Memory disorders, their diagnosis and medical treatment
