Objective

The student will be able to
- identify the main structures and functions of the human body
- recognise the changes in human physiological functions caused by natural physical ageing and assess their impact on the functioning of an older person.

Content

- Essential structure and function of the human body, including tissues, musculoskeletal system, circulatory system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system and fluid balance, nervous system, senses and hormonal regulation
- Natural ageing changes in different organ systems and the impact of these changes on human functioning
