Prerequisites

The student is able to read and draw technical drawings and process flow diagrams. The student knows the basics of materials engineering. The student can dimension and calculate the pressure drop in a piping system and select the right pump based on the characteristic curves. The student understands the basics of energy production.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the basics of district heating and cooling network design. The student understands the basics of district heating and cooling production. The student knows the equipment of district heating and cooling end-use.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student masters the basics of district heating and cooling network design. The student understands and can calculate the basic calculations of combined heat and power generation, heat pumps and solar thermal.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can design district heating and cooling networks. The student masters the basics of energy production. The student is familiar with end-use equipment and can take this into account as part of the design.
