Objective

The student knows the basics of quality and environmental management and the principles of process thinking. The student is familiar with the main environmental management analyses and is able to apply them to the own field of profession. The student is familiar with environmental management standards and audit requirements.

- Principles of quality and process thinking
- Third-party audit requirements for quality and environmental systems
- Investigation of contaminated soil and environmental impact of land use for energy production
- EU and national environmental legislation
- Criteria for monitoring and measuring continuous and accidental emissions
- Environmental permitting and the environmental impact assessment process
- Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Emission Reduction and Monitoring Practices (IPPC)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the basics of quality and process thinking. The student knows the concepts of environmental aspects, certification and accreditation. The student knows the basics of emission calculation and conversion calculation. The student identifies the key analyses in environmental management.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student knows the principles of quality and process thinking. The student knows the EU and national environmental legislation and their relevance to the business activities. The student is able to produce analyses of environmental management.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student knows practical actions to improve the functioning of processes. The student is able to assess the quality of processes and environmental performance. The student will have knowledge of process, emission and environmental impact measurements and the ability to apply this knowledge in practice. The student will know the importance of regulatory control from an environmental management perspective.
