Objective

- Is able to design and develop a website with publishing system
- Understands website development process and the necessary technologies, principles, concepts and methods, as well as how to use development tools to solve problems
- Is able to include analytics systems to a web site and is able to interpret the information obtained
- Is able to do user interface design and implementation of theoretical frameworks and knows how to use the terminology
- Achieves the conceptual knowledge to understand technological applications in the process of developing in the users, usability and user experience point of view,
- Is able to carry out simple responsive user interfaces using the latest dynamic programming languages and to choose the methods it uses, taking into account the context
- Understands the different visual and interactive elements and characters on planning websites based on user experience
- Is able to evaluate the visual appearance of user interfaces and functionality in the user's point of view, taking advantage of research methods
- Is able to achieve the Polytechnic national legislation (352/2003 Section 8), as required, in their own field work tasks required for the second national language in oral and written skills

- Is able to write the content of intact text, in which the message is transmitted
- Participates actively in discussion of work in normal communication situations
- Is able to use their own field and basic vocabulary.

Content

Students learn web content management system installation and basic functions. In addition the use of additional components is explored and developing the skills achieved in programming and markup languages skills learned earlier in previous courses is continued.

The course applies to design of user interfaces commonly used methods. The starting point is a graphical user interface and interaction design as a part of the growing importance of services and tools and universal communication culture.

The course utilizes the latest and most advanced theories and techniques which can be used to understand better how and why people use media. Lessons provide a variety of perspectives on how to identify individual users and user activities.
Using the latest methods of qualitative usability, researchers and media companies have a better understanding of users and their activities. These methods include usability studies, focus groups interviews and web-based surveys and web analytics. These evaluation methods are used in the context of developing user interfaces.

The course focuses on user interfaces, engineering design and implementation, so that it takes into account the interaction, usability and user experience as a whole. The user interface design seeks responsiveness, which allows the same web application to be used by various devices without weakening the user experience significantly.

Opiskelija tietää käytettävyyden ja käyttäjäkokemuksen käsitteet, viitekehykset, suunnittelu-, toteutus- ja arviointimenetelmät. Opiskelijalla on valmiuksia soveltaa oppimaansa työelämän tilanteissa. Opiskelija ymmärtää asiantuntijuuden merkityksen mediatekniikan alalla ja osaa analysoida omaa asiantuntijuuttaan.
