Objective

The aim of the course is that once graduated, the student will be employed in a position that corresponds with his or her qualification. The student will know his or her tasks well enough to work e.g. as a substitute worker in these tasks.

Content

The students’ future job titles can include e.g. the following: project manager, supervisor, offer calculator, technical support/salesperson, maintenance manager, technical property manager. The students are required to complete a work-based learning project in these or other tasks, which will be reported on. The project will be selected from the student’s daily tasks, but the description and analysis require a comprehensive understanding of the background of performing the tasks, and the way the tasks are connected with the company operations. The project topics may include e.g. the offer calculation or quantity surveying of a specific construction project, the preparation of a working site or a planning project. The tasks in work-based learning must correspond with the degree. The project includes development discussions between the employer, student and university of applied sciences, the purpose of which is to clarify the student’s professional goals and to evaluate how they are reached. The student reports on the project according to instructions.

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that the student works in tasks as specified in the objectives of the course, and completes reports according to instructions.
