Objective

On completion of the course the student has an overall understanding of different heating systems, the way they relate to the other building service systems and their impact on the indoor climate and the energy consumption of a building.
The student can determine the heating power and energy needed to heat a house and perform related calculations.
The student can choose components for the heating system appropriately.
The student can apply the rules and regulations governing the heating of buildings.
The student can create a heating plan for a single-family house and supervise the implementation of a heating system on a construction site.

Content

Heat production systems for buildings, requirements for heating power, and energy consumption
Heat release devices, the heat distribution system, control, expansion and safety devices, pipe insulation
Designing the heating system of a single-family house.

Introduction to Computing and CAD.
