Objective
After completing the course, students will be familiar with the main technical aspects of commercial heavy vehicles and the relevant legislation and regulations.

• Basic components and terminology of trucks and vehicle combinations
• Type classification of trucks and buses
• Regulations related to trucks and buses
• Combustion engine-powered powertrains
• Compressed air system
• Alternative fuels, gas and hydrogen
• Trailers and coupling devices
• Chassis structures, frame, axles, steering and braking systems
• Superstructures, load handling and accessories
• Electrical powertrains in buses and trucks
• Telematics and digital technology
• Driver assistance systems

The student

• is able to identify, define and use concepts and models in the subject area of the course
