Objective

Students will have the ability to define the legal basis and responsibilities of corporate governance and the ability to develop the organisation in accordance with the principles of good governance. The student will have a good command of the legal standards relating to the job description of front-line staff and will be able to apply them in practical situations.

The student will be able to take into account the value of the company, the obligations imposed by product development and contractual relations, corporate social responsibility and the obligations imposed by insider information. Understand employer obligations in the context of mergers and acquisitions. The student will understand the employer's interests and obligations in an expanding and internationalising company and will be able to draft the necessary contractual terms and conditions.

Content

- Organisation of the management of different types of companies and liability issues (company law)
- Corporate social responsibility
-Protection of trade names, trademarks and product development in working life (intellectual property rights)
- Competition, marketing, outsourcing (service contracts, works contracts, agency agreements, public procurement and client liability)
- Legal aspects of the duties of a front-line worker.
- Responsibility of the front-line worker for equality, equal opportunities and the well-being of the working community within the working community.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the course objectives fairly. The student will be able to identify, define and use the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student understands the criteria and principles of the expertise development.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has achieved the course objectives well, even though the knowledge and skills need improvement on some areas. The student is able to define the course concepts and models and are able to justify the analysis. The student is able to apply his/her knowledge in leisure, study and work situations. The student understands the importance of expertise in the field of business and is able to analyze his/her own expertise.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has achieved the objectives of the course with excellent marks. The student masters commendably the course subject area’s concepts and models. The student is able to make justified and fluent analysis and to present concrete development measures. The student is well prepared to apply his/her knowledge in leisure, study and work situations. The student is able to analyze the business sector expertise and the development of his/her own expertise.
