Objective

After completing the course, students will be able to
• define the key functions and concepts of the supply chain in the fashion industry
• evaluate the main factors to consider when selecting suppliers
• assess the role of forwarding and logistics services in the supply chain and choose options based on delivery terms, time, risks, costs, and sustainability
• understand the key functions and documents of international trade.

• Review of key concepts in the supply chain
• Factors influencing supplier selection
• Key areas of logistics, including transportation, packaging, warehousing, and their impact on profitability and sustainability
• Delivery terms
• Customs clearance, tariff heading and import/export documents
• The importance of data in the supply chain

Students recognise the basic role of forwarding and logistics services in the supply chain. They have a superficial understanding of international trade documents and functions. Students can provide simple and general examples of supply chain functions.

They can evaluate the main factors to consider when selecting suppliers and justify their choices. Students understand the role of forwarding and logistics services in the supply chain and can make choices based on delivery terms, time, risks, costs, and sustainability. They understand the key functions and documents of international trade. Students can apply their knowledge to practical supply chain situations and present justified solutions.

Students can analyse the key functions and concepts of the supply chain in the fashion industry. They present justified and clear evaluations of supplier selection criteria from different perspectives.
