Objective

After completing the course, the student
• masters the stages of the garment design process and the schedules and practices of working life that affect them
• designs a collection for a defined target group, taking into account the end user's values, style, and preferences
• appropriately applies industry software in product design, visualisation, and production instructions
• understands the basics of product development
• understands and illustrates the natural proportions of the body and garment as well as the volume of the garment in various images.

• Design process and basic elements of design
• Seasonal thinking and the importance of trends
• Ideation and design methods
• Designing, instructing, and presenting a commercial women's clothing collection
• Natural proportions of the body and garment in presentation images
• Bodies and garment volume
• Garment details and proportions in technical flat drawings

Qualifications

The following courses, or equivalent competencies:
CAD for Apparel Industry; Clothing Technology 1; Technical Design and Pattern Making: Women's Clothing 1

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students design a collection, but the overall concept is incomplete and the design for the target group is superficial. There are deficiencies in the visual and technical design and presentation of the products, making it difficult to grasp the whole or achieve accuracy.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students design a collection that takes into account the target group's values, style, and preferences, considering prevailing trends. The overall concept of the collection is logical. The products are visually and technically clearly designed and presented.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students design a diverse and commercially sustainable collection that takes into account the target group's values, style, preferences, and prevailing trends. The overall concept of the collection is logical, consistent, and cohesive, and commercially feasible. The products are visually balanced and technically accurately designed and presented.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass: Students design a collection, but the overall concept is incomplete and the design for the target group is superficial. There are deficiencies in the visual and technical design and presentation of the products, making it difficult to grasp the whole or achieve accuracy.
