Objective
After completing the course, the students are able to:
• outline clothing and trade show practices in a global operating environment.
• find the materials needed for the collection from fairs and is able to consider the risks involved in obtaining them.
• analyze and apply trend information through brands.
• understand the different quality, capacity and productivity properties as well the price of the production in different countries and factories.
• understand the importance of decentralizing the outsourcing and manufacturing from the point of view of risk management.
• produce a trend and fair report for a brand.
Content
Preparations for purchasing fabrics and other materials for potential projects in an international fabric, accessory and apparel sourcing fair. Subcontracting from the point of view of quality, capacity and machinery. Fabric agencies. Purchase of fabrics and accessories for the upcoming season. Analyzes of actual trends in brand stores. Current information on responsibility, fashion, colors, materials, manufacturing methods and manufacturers from a brand perspective. Trend, fair and travel reports.
