Objective
The student
• can produce harmonic arrangements and accompaniments by ear, from chord symbols, and from musical notation
• is able to apply musical elements and their knowledge in constructing accompaniments
• is able to accompany their students in teaching situations
• practices with their accompaniment instrument in an ergonomically sustainable way
• adapts accompaniments to their own playing level.
Content
• Producing accompaniments in different styles tailored to the student's orientation for teaching needs in pop/jazz and classical music from sheet music, chord symbols, and by ear
• Understanding and implementing commonly used harmonic phenomena
• Basics of accompaniment instrument techniques
• Composing and practicing a variety of accompaniments
• Various exercises and techniques according to orientation in different styles
Qualifications
Completion of the Accompaniment Skills for Music Educator 1 or equivalent knowledge and skills.
