Objective
The student
• can search for, select and use music versatilely in a variety of tasks, situations and needs
• recognises musical phenomena as historical continuities across genres and their connection to current phenomena and aspects of equality, equity and responsible consumption which will support the student's professional growth as an active future actor
• develops their historical and critical thinking, knowledge of repertoire, collaborative skills and their ability to justify their own views in writing and orally in interaction with others.
Content
• Examination of musical phenomena such as timbre, rhythm and time, structure and form, performance, listening and participation and how they have changed over time
• Analysis of changing trends in music across time and genres
Qualifications
Higher education studies in music or a strong background in music as a hobby.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student
• is able to identify key phenomena and trends of change in music of different periods and genres and to utilise musical cultural heritage in their professional activities
• can follow set schedules, argue and justify their own opinions in interactive situations, and find new perspectives from the descriptions of others.
