Objective
The student
• can engage in creative music-making within a small ensemble
• can distinguish the roles of instruments, arrange and orchestrate for them, rehearse the ensemble, and actively and creatively participate as a member
• can utilise improvisation in their music-making
• can define the importance of quality music notation in conveying musical information
• communicates about their music verbally, in writing, and through recordings.
• is able to work as an active member of a group and provide constructive feedback on the work of other group members
• can work in a goal-oriented manner and prepare a concert production as a member of the group.
Content
• Writing music and preparing sheet music for a small ensemble
• Small ensemble rehearsals
• Musical improvisation in a group context
Qualifications
Degree according to the extended syllabus level of basic education in music in Finland or equivalent skills and knowledge.

The student

• can communicate about their music verbally, in writing, and through recordings, and prepare a musical score of their music
• works according to given assignments and schedules
• works as an active member of a group and provides constructive feedback on the work of other group members
• can work in a goal-oriented manner and prepare a concert production as a member of the group.
