Objective

The student
• can plan individual lessons for their instrument in a flexible and learner-centred manner, both individually and in peer groups
• can utilise typical methods of music education and individual instruction for their instrument and use repertoire suitable for the learner's skill level
• is able to analyse their observations of the learner's actions and identify factors affecting musical interaction, and can apply these in their teaching
• recognises the importance of emotional skills in their teaching.

Content

• Learner-centred approach

• Lesson planning, teaching materials and repertoire
• In-depth knowledge of the instrument and ergonomics related to teaching the instrument
• Observation of teaching and learning; reflection individually and in groups
• Instrumental teaching practice

Qualifications

The student understands the key principles related to meeting new learners and pedagogical interaction. Students know how to plan lessons for learners of different ages and levels, selecting suitable learning materials. The student has basic knowledge required for teaching their instrument and continues to develop their skills through observation. The student is prepared to start one-to-one teaching practice.

• has the basic knowledge and skills for teaching their instrument
• can use repertoire suitable for the learner's skill and develop their teaching skills through observation.
